• Oct 2012: The OSDI '12 version of the nom poster, "Rearchitecting System Software for the Cloud", is now available, as is a two-page extended abstract.
• Sep 2012: I am looking forward to attending OSDI '12 in Los Angeles, CA, next month.
• Aug 2012: This month's Communications of the ACM has a short blurb on our Resource-as-a-Service (RaaS) model of cloud computing on page 19. Check it out!
• Jun 2012: I've been working on a new operating system, nom, which is finally starting to come together: a two-page extended abstract describing what we are doing is now online; alternatively, see the pretty poster.
• May 2012: The camera-ready copy of "The Resource-as-a-Service (RaaS) Cloud" is now available.
• May 2012: Busy month coming up. I'll be in Barcelona for an IOLanes EU meeting on the week of May 27th, in Haifa for SYSTOR and TCE on the week of June 3rd, and in Boston for HotCloud and USENIX ATC on the week of June 10th.
• Apr 2012: Our position paper "The Resource-as-a-Service (RaaS) Cloud" has been accepted to appear in HotCloud '12. "Potential to generate discussion: 4. Passionate fights will break out, hire security". Indeed!
• Mar 2012: The extended version of our paper "Deconstructing Amazon EC2 Spot Instance Pricing" has been accepted to appear in ACM Transactions on Economics and Computation.
• Mar 2012: Our paper "Towards Exitless and Efficient Paravirtual I/O" will appear at SYSTOR 2012.
• Jan 2012: Upcoming travel: London, UK, for ASPLOS '12 and associated events, thanks to the generous EuroSys Student Travel Prize award.
• Jan 2012: The camera-ready copy of "Adding Advanced Storage Controller Functionality via Low-Overhead Virtualization" is now available.
• Jan 2012: The camera-ready copy of "ELI: Bare-Metal Performance for I/O Virtualization" is now available.

• Aug 2011: New paper: "Deconstructing Amazon EC2 Spot Instance Pricing". Spot instance prices are not as they appear.
• Aug 2011: Our paper "The Turtles Project: Design and Implementation of Nested Virtualiation" won the IBM Research 2010 Pat Goldberg Memorial Best Paper Award.
